Communications agreement and opt-out

When you agree to be contacted by the Army National Guard, communications with you may be via mail, telephone, text message, e-mail, social media and other electronic messages unless you opt out or revoke your consent. By checking the applicable box and submitting your personal information, you explicitly agree with all information outlined on this page.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

You may opt out or revoke consent to receive communications from the Army National Guard at any time. To opt out of email communication, email us at customersupport@nationalguard.com. To revoke consent to receive SMS (text message) communication, reply “STOP” to any SMS message generated by the Army National Guard. To revoke consent to receive phone calls, call 1-800-GO-GUARD (1-800-464-8273) or advise the Army National Guard representative calling you.

Army National Guard Event Waiver and Release of Liability

The “Army National Guard Event Waiver and Release of Liability” section is for individuals using the nationalguard.com website to register for attendance in an Army National Guard activity. You must be at least 16 years old and complete all the information requested to participate.

I, Participant, on behalf of myself and my heirs, successors and assigns, hereby agree that in connection with my participation in the Army National Guard special event or other interactive activities (collectively, the “Event”) fully and forever release, waive, discharge, and agree not to sue the Army National Guard or its event marketing and advertising agencies, its Event producers, other participants, sponsoring and participating organizations, the owners and lessees of the premises and/or equipment used to conduct the Event and the respective agents, officers, directors and employees of each of the foregoing (collectively, the “Releasees”) for any and all claims, causes of action or liability of any kind, including claims, causes of action or liability for any injury (including death), loss or damages sustained or incurred by me (or my property) arising out of or in any way associated with my participation in the Event including all claims, causes of action or liability arising out of the negligence of any of the Releasees.

I acknowledge that I have voluntarily chosen to assume all risks associated with my participation in the Event, both known and unknown, including those risks that result from the negligence of the Releasees or others and assume full responsibility for my participation in the Event.

I understand that the Event may be photographed, videotaped, or otherwise recorded and I agree that the Army National Guard and its agents, designees and licensees may use my name and likeness (in any form and without regard to any alteration) in photographs, videotapes, audiotapes and any and all other media, throughout the world, in perpetuity, without any additional consideration to me or to any third party. I shall have no right of approval and no legal claim arising out of any use or editing of my name and likeness. The Army National Guard and its agents, designees and licensees shall have no obligation to use any of the rights I grant.

This section outlines information we collect, how it is used and how you can opt out of data collection. This includes personal information collected on request forms and activity on the nationalguard.com website.

When you contact us, we will collect personal information about you so that we may contact you and best respond to your request. Disclosure of personal information by you is strictly voluntary. You are under no obligation whatsoever to provide an Army National Guard representative any information. All information collected will be used strictly for recruiting purposes. The authority for the collection of this information is Section 503 of Title 10, United States Code.

We may use information you provide to determine your qualifications, to improve your nationalguard.com experience, and to personalize information we send you.

Your right to request removal of your information

You may ask that any personal information we have collected about you be removed from our files. To make this request, email us at customersupport@nationalguard.com. Please include the email address you used when you contacted us, so that we can locate and remove the correct information. We will process your request within a reasonable time and will confirm once the information has been removed. Declining to provide this information or requesting removal will not affect your ability to browse nationalguard.com, but it may mean a recruiter is unable to contact you going forward.

Children’s privacy

nationalguard.com is not directed to children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. This website adheres to Title 16 CFR Part 312 (the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule). If you are under the age of 13, please do not submit any personal information on this site. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to promptly delete that information.

It is separately our policy not to knowingly solicit or permit children under the age of 16 to provide personal information for any purpose.

If a child who is not at least 16 years old has provided us with personal information, that child's parent or legal guardian should contact us at customersupport@nationalguard.com and we will remove that information.

Cookies and tracking technologies

nationalguard.com uses cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixels, tags and web beacons) to track activity on nationalguard.com. Cookies are pieces of text placed on your electronic device that store information regarding your use of the site. If you choose to opt out, you will continue to receive advertisements, but they will not be tailored to your interests.

The Army National Guard uses software programs and analytics tools to collect and analyze statistical data about your activity on nationalguard.com. This data is used to improve the user experience, understand web traffic patterns, identify opportunities to improve the overall quality of the site and support advertising and marketing.

Third-party data sharing

The Army National Guard may use third-party service providers, as well as their software programs and analytical tools, to collect and analyze statistical data about your activity on nationalguard.com. The Army National Guard may share internet usage or other de-identified information with third-party service providers, but will not share any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) with third-party service providers.
