OVERVIEW
The Indirect Fire Infantryman supervises or is a member of a mortar squad, section or platoon. The mortar has the most power and range of any weapon in the infantry unit when on the battlefield.
JOB DUTIES
TRAINING
Twenty-two weeks of One Station Unit Training, which includes 10 weeks and 3 days of Basic Combat Training and 22 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field at Fort Benning, GA. Your skills are kept sharp with frequent squad maneuvers, target practice and war games.
