One Station Unit Training

Display Title:

One Station Unit Training

What it is:

For certain jobs like infantry or military police, new Soldiers go through Basic Training and their job training (Advanced Individual Training) all together. The same drill sergeants who are mentoring you in Basic Training will continue to teach you through your job-specific training.

What you'll do:
  • Learn how to use an M4 rifle
  • Learn general Army knowledge, like ranks and proper wear of the uniform
  • Perform physical training, including running, push-ups and sit-ups
  • Learn how to perform in stressful environments
  • Receive training on how to perform your chosen job as part of your unit team
How to prepare:

Your attitude throughout your training is key, so practice having a positive one. Be physically fit the day you ship out. Show up knowing that you're taking a positive step for your future, and be willing to put in some hard work to make that step successful.

Things you'll need:

Your recruiter will give you a packing list of things that you should take with you to Basic Training, including toiletries and just one change of clothes. Everything else you need will be provided for you, including learning aids and all tools and equipment needed to do your job. Plus, all meals and lodging are completely free.

How long it will take:
14 - 17 weeks
Timeline Interval:
