Job Training

What it is:

Your job-specific training is called Advanced Individual Training, or AIT. In AIT, you'll continue your transformation into a Citizen-Soldier by learning the specific skills you'll need for your job. You'll likely get more freedom than in Basic Training, but you'll still be in an environment structured around learning.

What you'll do:
  • Receive training specific to your Military Occupational Specialty, or MOS
  • Receive any civilian certifications necessary to perform your job
  • Continue to perform regular physical exercise
How to prepare:

Transitioning from Basic Combat Training to AIT should come naturally to you. Basic Training will have prepared you for most things you'll see in AIT, including structured environments and working under stressful situations.

Things you'll need:

Every AIT will have different requirements, but everything you need will be provided for you, including learning aids, all necessary tools and equipment, and study materials. All of your food and lodging will also be provided for free.

How long it will take:
