Qualify

What it is: 

This is when you will complete any steps necessary to join the Guard. Your recruiter will tell you which steps you need and how to complete them. This process varies from person to person depending on your physical, legal and medical history.

What you'll do: 
  • Take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test
  • Complete any necessary waivers
  • Get ready physically to join
How to prepare: 

If you have to take the ASVAB, find practice materials online or at your local library. If you need waivers, your recruiter will tell you what you'll need to complete them. Your recruiter will also help you determine what physical training you'll need to get ready.
